How to Get Your M-Pesa Credentials

Follow these steps to get your Safaricom Daraja API credentials:

  • 1 Go to the Safaricom Developer Portal and create an account (or log in).
  • 2 Navigate to "My Apps" and create a new app.
  • 3 Select "M-Pesa" as the product and choose the API you need (STK Push / C2B).
  • 4 You will receive your Consumer Key and Consumer Secret.
  • 5 Generate a Passkey from the API credentials section.
  • 6 Your Shortcode is the PayBill or Till number registered with Safaricom.
